I recently visited Turkey for the 3rd time. You can never have too much Shish and Baklava in your life. That’s for damn sure.
We decided to try somewhere new this year and booked Olu Deniz in Fethiye. And by we, I mean me. My boyfriends lack of interest means that he doesn’t know where were going until we’re practically at the Airport and even then I still don’t think he has a scooby fucking doo. He spends the months leading up to the holiday telling people we’re going to ‘Greece somewhere’. Okay, not even close hun but carry on.
Anyone that travels to new places knows it always takes a few days to suss out the area and find the hidden gems amongst the English inspired bars with the Michael Jackson tributes. Sorry but I’m not one for a £1.50 fry up and a Blue WKD on holiday. Each to their own and all that.
Here’s 5 reasons I fell just a little in love with the place…

I honestly don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I’ve spent the entire month so far searching through holidays and cities to visit. You’d think I’d won the lottery the way I’m going on. I have to keep reminding myself I’ve only got so much annual leave for the year! Anyone else find themselves obsessed with Holiday Pirates? I just freaking love it.
I have to say it’s really inspiring me to make this year a good’un though. Although, this year was mainly meant to be about saving for a house. I have made peace with the fact I will not be trotting off to New York or Thailand this year and I’m honestly fine with it. As a compromise, I’m just going to take a few cheap city breaks instead!
I’ve whittled it down to just 5 on my bucket list, be interesting to see how many I get ticked off by the end of the year!
1. Prague, Czech Republic.
I mean it just looks so damn pretty. This has been on my wish list for a while now, I’m especially interested in going at Christmas to visit the Christmas Markets. Nothing beats spending a few cold days in December to get yourself festively buzzed for Christmas!
From what I’ve seen, it looks like there is plenty of history and interesting buildings to discover. Sometimes it’s nice to learn a little bit of history rather than playing ignorant to culture, lazing on the beach every day.

So Macaroons always look super cute let’s be honest but as far as the taste goes, they never really got me. Not in the way a Chocolate Brownie or Crumble does at least. That was until I ventured into a sweet little cafe in the capital of Budapest, called Chez Dodo.
There’s a reason it’s the number 1 bakery in Budapest on Tripadvisor. Those bitches ain’t lying – not for one second.
Let me tell you why these little Macaroons deserve a blog post all to themselves..

There’s nothing I like more than an excuse to take a little annual leave from the full time job. Working through Christmas is always an exasperating task, so knowing I had a short city break the other side made it all that much more bearable. *I love my job, I love my job, I love my job.”
January seemed to be the cheapest month to visit Budapest and i’m all about that bargain life. So, it was really a no-brainer when the flights only cost £50 return!
I decided against a hotel and managed to find an amazing apartment off Airbnb for only £30 a night. (FYI, I’m totally obsessing with Airbnb at the moment! I’m still overly cautious of how likely getting murdered is, I mean you are staying in someone’s house you don’t know for Christ’s sake! But I thought I’d take my chances for a price that cheap!)
Here’s what we got up to..

There’s nothing I like better than a festive day out and London always gets it spot on! I’d seen The Backyard Cinema advert pop up a fair few times on my Facebook and knew it was a must have for my Christmas to-do list!
For anyone who hasn’t heard of The Backyard Cinema, it’s basically themed cinema experiences throughout the capital! They tend to change themes every season and I knew ‘The Snow Kingdom’ experience was the perfect way to kick start the holiday season. Totes sounded American then.
FYI- tickets really don’t hang about, so I was totally pissed to have missed out on seeing Home Alone 2. (The homeless pigeon lady just kills me every time.) So naturally, I settled on ELF.

I have literally killed myself Christmas Shopping today. I feel like I’ve done a workout! Honestly, trying to get from one side to the other of Oxford Street really is a mission.
Does anyone else get stressed with the trillions of other people walking slowly in front of you on Oxford Street. Drives me insane. Then my sister wants me to traipse through four floors of Forever 21. Sorry hun, but after spending 2 hours in Primark and getting lost in Selfridges I’m not quite feeling it anymore. I did find some delicious Cookie Dough in Selfridges though. Win.
Of course on our way through, we had to stop and take some obligatory photo’s of the Christmas lights. It looks pretty damn special this time of year.

I have always thoroughly enjoyed Halloween – dressing up in black bin bags, flashing horns and trick or treating on a school night. What’s not to love? However when you reach your twenties, Halloween turns into some sort of sluttish drink-fuelled affair. Thankfully I am over that phase now and have found myself looking for other ways to enjoy the sinister season!
So when my boyfriend was handed a fright night voucher for his birthday, I instantly took control.
“I’ll book it, don’t you worry.” *winks*
The thought of a Ghost Tour excited me beyond belief. The thought of a Ghost Boat Tour excited me even more.
The choice was made.
